During the creation of my animation "The Captain, the Booth, and the Unknown," I needed to create a particle simulation. Feeling the need for inspiration, I took to YouTube and watched a tutorial by Bad Normals. I created this particle simulation by following his process. Normally, I don't replicate the work of others, but his workflow was top notch, and I wanted to learn about it. In this process, the artist will create the VFX in one file, export it as an alembic, then put it together using geometry nodes in the next file. This process is much lighter on the computer versus running the particle simulation in the same scene. Thankfully, this was exactly the kind of new information I needed for what I was creating. Now I plan to use this knowledge to do a study similar to this one that I will be posting soon.
